Eco-conscious labels, zero-waste set designs, strict selection criteria\u2026 But between stated ambitions and the reality of its partnerships, is the event really as sustainable as it claims?<\/em><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Access Subject to Conditions<\/strong><br><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Since 2020, CFW has implemented a <strong>strict set of specifications<\/strong> for brands wishing to join its program. These criteria, grouped under the name <strong><em>Sustainability Requirements<\/em><\/strong>, aim to reduce the event\u2019s environmental impact, limit waste, and encourage more ethical production practices. To take part, each fashion house submits its application to <strong>a jury dedicated to CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility)<\/strong> issues, which evaluates entries based on<strong> 19 criteria.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Among the minimum requirements:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>At least 50% of the collection<\/strong> must be certified and made from next-generation sustainable materials, recycled or upcycled fabrics, or deadstock.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Fur free<\/strong>: the use of fur is prohibited.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Zero single-use plastic<\/strong>, whether in stores, packaging, or backstage.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Runway set designs<\/strong> must be zero waste.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Brands must guarantee decent working conditions<\/strong> throughout their production chain: no forced labor.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Model casting<\/strong> must reflect inclusive commitments.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>This model is inspiring other European capitals such as <strong>Amsterdam, Berlin<\/strong>, and <strong>Oslo<\/strong>. To date, <strong>London<\/strong> is the only major fashion week to have officially adopted these standards, although they apply solely to emerging designers. <strong>France<\/strong>, meanwhile, is lagging, despite local initiatives like <strong>Marseille\u2019s Slow Fashion Week<\/strong>, which aligns with this movement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Zalando Honors the Commitment of Bubu Ogisi<\/strong><br><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>At this year\u2019s edition, the <strong>Zalando Visionary Award<\/strong> was presented to <a href=\"https:\/\/iamisigo.com\/\">Iamisigo<\/a>, the label founded by Nigerian designer <strong>Bubu Ogisi<\/strong>.
