The two entities with Japanese origins join forces for a collaboration. The 2003 Asics x Bape GEL-1090 running shoe has been given the iconic French camouflage, revealing a campaign shot on the rooftops of Paris.
As Fashion Week is in full swing in the heart of the French capital, equipment manufacturer Asics and streetwear label Bape have decided to team up around an iconic sneaker from the 2000s. The GEL-1090 pair has been updated with GEL cushioning technology while keeping the details that largely echo the 2000s and the famous Harajuku district, where the Bape brand was born in 1993.
Not surprisingly, the sneaker features Bape’s famous signature camouflage. Different shades of blue, red and white adorn the shape of the pair which is a French exclusive. The BAPE x Asics collaboration will be available in very limited quantities in the Parisian store in the 4th arrondissement, on the bapefrance.com website and at the BAPE® corner of the Galeries Lafayette on the Champs-Elysées, for a price of 140€.
