This spring, New Balance is bringing back a blast from the past with the reintroduction of the 1999 New Balance 1000 silhouette. Following a reinterpretation by Aimé Leon Dore, Boston’s long standing partner collaborates with Joe Freshgoods. 🌸
After the New Balance 610, 650, and a trio of New Balance 990v4s, the Chicago designer sets his sights on the New Balance 1000. For this special occasion, Joe Freshgoods decks out the model in two distinctive colorways: Pink Mink and Black Ice. The iridescent details of the latter notably evoke memories of the 2017 Nike Air Max 97 Ultra Skepta. Featuring predominantly honeycomb mesh panels, the upper alternates between matte and metallic finishes. The “JFG” branding is cleverly placed on the heel tab, insole, and toe box. Finally, the sole is equipped with the renowned ABZORB technology and sports a gum sole finish.
