This upper was designed by Tinker Hatfield in 1986 and released a year later. Inspired by the Georges Pompidou Centre in Paris, it features the famous Air technology from the Beaverton company. These two pairs of Air Max 1 are built around a white mesh base, complemented by gray suede overlays. The green and black hues are respectively placed on the lateral Swoosh, mudguard, and lining, adding contrast to the pair.
