It’s seen as the Holy Grail by fans of the Jordan Brand’s rich legacy, who have been waiting for months: the Air Jordan 4 Retro Fire Red finally drops this week.
A bumper year for Jordan Brand lovers? No doubt. After the Air Jordan 5 re-release back in May in the all-conquering Fire Red colourway, it’s the turn of the legendary Air Jordan 4 to make its comeback. Unveiled for the very first time in 1989, this 2020 version marks its third re-release. It follows the ‘Mars Blackmon’ Air Jordan 4 in 2006 and the 2012 version with the Jumpman logo on the heel. One thing is certain: this new edition is by far the truest to the ’89 OG.
Its key feature? The famous Nike Air inscription on the heel. As well as this detail that makes all the difference, the shoe has a smooth white leather upper with contrasting black and red elements. “Fire Red” details cover the top and bottom lace locks, tongue logo, lining, heel inscription and part of the outsole and midsole. Black has found its way onto the mesh, wings and heel. The middle sole combines black, white and red, and the Air Max unit is present and correct.
The Air Jordan 4 Retro Fire Red, available in men’s and children’s sizes, is coming to the SNKRS app and Courir on Saturday 28 November. Good cop everyone! .
